The Prince William Community Band was formed in June 1996 and is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to providing the citizens of Prince William County, VA and surrounding communities the opportunity to perform, or enjoy as audience members, the exciting world of concert band music.

The Prince William Community Band held its first rehearsal on June 28, 1996 at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, VA. The first performance was on August 11, 1996 at the Locust Shade Park amphitheater. Since then, the band has performed numerous concerts each year. Past performances have included the Manassas Fall Festival, Old Bridge Christmas Parade, Manassas Museum Holiday Concert, Occoquan Summer Concert Series, and at retirement communities within Prince William County, VA. All of our quality band performances are provided free of charge.

The Prince William Community Band fosters music education in area schools while enhancing community appreciation of the unique concert band sound and literature. The band is comprised of community musicians who are active or retired professionals, educators, and skilled amateurs. These various band members show that music is a vital and important part of the education process. Even if music students do not become professional musicians, they can better themselves and the community by contributing their time and talents in a commmunity band.

For audiences of all ages, the Prince William Community Band members share their love of the spine-tingling inspiration in brass, woodwind, and percussion instrumental music. Playing spirited marches, enduring melodies, and thought-provoking compositions underscoring historical and contemporary life, the music of the Prince William County Band appeals to everyone.

We are proud to have received the 2006 Seefeldt Award for Outstanding Arts Group in Prince William County.
