Joining the PWCB

Eligibility Requirements

If you are an adult (over the age of 18) and have your own symphonic instrument, please join us for rehearsals and

concerts. We are dedicated to playing symphonic band music in a relaxed atmosphere. Our band members are all

volunteers who play for the sheer enjoyment of music! Because the high schools and middle schools have active

music programs for their students, our organization is for adults over the age of 18. However, we occasionally have

opportunities for high school students. If you are a high school student who wishes to play with us, you must have

your band director's approval, as well as the approval of our conductor. If you need more information or want to

audition for our conductor, please email us.

Dues

Band dues of $20.00 are collected annually or when you join the band. If you wish to purchase a PWCB polo shirt, the

cost is $18.50 - $22.00, depending on the size you need. This is an optional purchase.

Forms

Band members must complete a member information form and give it to Erik Kabo, our Personnel Manager. Everyone

must also sign our Music Folder Policy agreement and give it to Greg Alfonso, our Librarian, before taking music

out of the band room.

Instruments

You need your own instrument in good playing condition. We provide percussion instruments and tubas. We also

recommend that you have your own music stand and stand light which are needed at certain concert venues.

Concerts

The PWCB performs free concerts at various locations in Prince William County, Virginia. We frequently play at the

Harris Pavilion in Manassas, the Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge, the Connaughton Plaza in the center of Prince

William County, Locust Shade Park in Dumfries, and various high schools around the county. Please check this web

site often for all of our concert announcements.

You should find all of the information you need in these web pages which are continually updated. If you need more
